How to Keep Bass Fish in an Aquarium
If somehow you manage to end up with a few bass you will need a decent size aquarium which would be at least 55 gallons or more to house the fish depending on their size.
If you have a bass you will know that they are very picky eaters and will only eat live fish. You will either need to purchase different types of minnows or you will need to buy feeder fish of some sort. Feeder fish are usually sick at the pet stores so you take the risk of your fish getting really sick from eating these unhealthy feeder fish. I would only stick to minnows. There are many varieties of minnows to choose from a lot of different size minnows as well.
Bass can get very big very fast. This means if they really start to outgrow the tank you will need to switch them into a bigger tank before they get stressed out and die. You will need to do water changes at least every couple of weeks. You will also need to siphon out the gravel (half) every two weeks as well. You will probably want to clean off the decorations when you are cleaning the tank. You can also purchase some type of glass cleaner to keep the glass on the tank clean.
Bass are very interesting to watch. They have very large mouths. I always thought it would be cool to keep a bunch of fish together in a tank. I wasn't sure about the laws in my area so I never tried it. I have a lot of fish tanks but I would prefer a fish tank with some good old bass.
You will probably have to feed each bass about 3 minnows a day which can get somewhat costly but at least you won't have to buy fish food. You will also need to purchase dechlorinator for the tank. Before you place the fish in the tank it's best to have the tank set up for at least one or two weeks to avoid them getting sick. You can also place some of the water from the area you got them in the tank as well. Make sure that the temperatures are about the same or slowly bring their temperature up to yours.
