Great Lakes Aquarium is located in Duluth, Minnesota on 353 Harbor Drive. The Great Lakes Aquarium is open from 10 am until 6 pm seven days a week unless it is a holiday such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. The admission costs to get inside the Great Lakes Aquarium are fourteen dollars and fifty cents for adults and eight dollars and fifty cents for children. The Great Lakes Aquarium is also handicap accessible, which makes it easier for disable people to get around the aquarium as well so they can enjoy the wonderful sea creatures inside the aquarium tanks.
One of the neatest things you can do inside Great Lakes Aquarium is explore and visit the touch tanks. The touch tanks are where you can see and touch sea creatures such as sting rays and sturgeons. However, you have to remember to respect these amazing sea creatures while you're exploring them and touching them so make sure your gentle and explore them with care. If you are a parent who is worried about your child getting harmed by the stingrays stinger, don't because the stingers are removed from the sting ray making the perfectly safe to touch. The around one o clock in the afternoon your child will have the chance to feed these beautiful sea creatures, which is always fun and exciting to do.
Another cool exhibit to check out inside the Great Lakes Aquarium is the otter tanks. The otter tanks are filled with happy active otters that are belly flopping off of rocks, sliding into the water, and swimming playful with each other inside the tanks. Your children will be able to watch the otters play happily for however long they want to. Your child will even be able to watch them eat during feeding time and get the chance to learn a bit about them if they want to. I always find the otter exhibit to be one of my favorites to explore inside the Great Lakes Aquarium.
Another one of my favorite exhibits to explore inside the Great Lakes Aquarium is the Isle Royale. The Isle Royale is a cool exhibit where you can watch fish swim in deep waters such as trout and salmon. You may even get the chance to see eels, lake sturgeons, white suckers, and schools of fish swimming together. It is a tank filled with tons of amazing sea creature you can watch and learn about.
The next best exhibit to see inside the aquarium would be the bald eagle exhibit. The bald eagle exhibit is an area where you can see a live bald eagle inside his nature habitat environment. The bald eagles name that you will see is Bogey. Bogey was found in Alaska with wings that just wont let him fly, so he has to live inside the Great Lakes Aquarium where he can live a happy long life where he can eat rats, chickens, and fish.
Now a neat exhibit for the little ones to play in is the Great Lakes Water Table. The Great Lakes Water Table is an area where little ones can play with little floating boats on top of water and make them float. It is even a place where they can learn about the different mini sized versions of real boats that are floating inside the water table. This exhibit doesn't have much to it, but it's just simple pure fun for the little ones.
The last few exhibits to see during your adventure through the Great Lakes Aquarium would be the Baptism River, St. Louis River, Pictured Rocks, and Kakagon Slough. These exhibits allow you to see and learn about trout, jelly fish, catfish, turtles, ducks, and many more amazing beautiful sea creatures. These exhibits are more on the educational side and might bore your child if their not into learning about sea creatures, rivers, and lakes, but they are very interesting if your children are into learning about those topics. However, it is always neat just to walk through the exhibits as see what is at each of them anyways.
