Red Mangrove Tree: A Great Tree for Your Saltwater Aquarium Tank
Information about the Red Mangrove Tree.
This tree does not need a whole lot of light because it's going to be placed on the bottom of your fish tank. To keep your algae problem and your heat in the fish tank down you will want to hook up your saltwater light to a timer so that the water doesn't get heated up from the light in your tank. This will also make sure that your tree is getting enough light during the day time hours. You will want to keep the temperature in your fish tank at around 72 to 76 degrees. You will also want to keep the salinity at around 1.022 to 1.025.
This tree is very peaceful and you will not have to worry about it attacking your fish like some types of invertebrates will. This tree should not be placed really close to any polyps, anemones or coral because it will often times get stung by the coral. The most important thing that you want to do is make sure that none of your fish will eat the plant in your aquarium. If you have any fish that are herbivores you will want to make sure that you supply them with enough seaweed and algae so that the fish do not rely on eating pieces of your new Red Mangrove Tree.
You will want to remove the plant from your tank if you are planning on medicating your fish. You will also want to make sure that you keep an eye on the plant and pull debris off of the leaves of the plant. You will also want to make sure that the plant doesn't get covered in algae as well. Once the plant starts to drop some leaves you will want to catch them and pull them out of the fish tank so that they do not get sucked up by your filter or rot at the bottom of the fish tank. If you find one of these Red Mangrove Trees you will want to purchase it because they are very hard to find!
