Luffy Giant Marimo Moss Balls, Aesthetically Beautiful, Create Real Ecosystem, Low-Maintenance, No Special Food Requirements, Suit All Aquarium Sizes, Shrimps and Snails Love Them, 4 Pack

Luffy Giant Marimo Moss Balls, Aesthetically Beautiful, Create Real Ecosystem, Low-Maintenance, No Special Food Requirements, Suit All Aquarium Sizes, Shrimps and Snails Love Them, 4 Pack
BESTSELLER NO. 8 in 2023
  • BRING HOME A LIVE PLANT THAT BENEFITS YOUR AQUARIUM --- The 4 LUFFY Giant Moss Balls are live plants. Fish excreta, debris, phosphate, and ammonia disturbs the natural ecosystem of the water tank. These balls help in creating a thriving atmosphere for the aquatic species.
  • NO SPECIAL FOOD REQUIREMENTS FOR GROWTH --- Both aquatic organisms and marimo moss balls compete for the same nutrients for growth. Marimos leave a limited room for other organisms to thrive. If marimos are floating, rather than settling down, gently squeeze it and pop its air bubble. Release it into the water and you will see them settling down at the bottom of the tank.
  • REAL MARIMOS ARE NOT ALWAYS SPHERICAL & MIGHT HAVE SOME BROWN SPOTS ON THEM --- As you buy LUFFY Giant Marimo Moss Balls, you should be able to differentiate between a real and a fake marimo. The 100% natural marimo will not always be spherical in shape or lush green in color. It is perfectly ok to have some brown spots. However, if you do find sparkling green and perfectly spherical marimos, there is a high chance that they are unnatural and synthetically prepared marimos.
  • ADDS TO THE AESTHETIC BEAUTY & ARE LOW MAINTENANCE --- LUFFY prohibits the usage of dye that imparts artificial green color to the moss balls. Since it distributes non-synthetic marimo moss balls, expect to receive regular/irregular shaped moss balls which are not always in deep green color. Undoubtedly, the marimo moss balls add to the aesthetic beauty of the aquarium and are low maintenance. They simply require some light and freshwater.
  • SNAIL-PROOF AND LOVED BY SHRIMPS --- Some snails love to feed on live plants, but when it comes to the LUFFY marimo moss balls, they nibble or eat food off it just like a shrimp. Shrimps, on the other hand, gorge on the green stuff and munch on any particle they like. We recommend keeping the marimo moss balls away from fish such as Koi or goldfish as it’s a tasty snack for them. It’s safe for them, but you don’t want your one pet to eat your plant pet.

How to Set Up an Aquarium

This is a tutorial on how to set up your aquarium.

Clean water is of prime importance. The water should be free from chlorine. Hardness and pH of the water are also to be considered. It is better to select fish species according to the quality of available water since modifying the quality of water is often expensive, time consuming and may require special skills.

Lighting. Some artificial lighting is required even if the aquarium receives some natural light. Common artificial lighting consists of fluorescent tubes with a special choke unit. Spot light are also used these days to decorate the tank. Such lights are available in different types. Fluorescent lighting is normally considered economical.

Aeration facilitates easy availability of oxygen for the fishes and driving out carbon dioxide. Aerators are used in aquarium particularly during the night. Piston types and vibratory types of aerators are available; the latter type is less expensive and popular.

Layout. Pebbles, rocks, mosaic chips, bog wood, drift wood, roots, synthetic plants, toys, cork bark and other decorative pieces are used as layout for the aquarium. Laminated or water-proof posters are fixed at the back pane of the aquarium. Flower pots and drain pipes make excellent instant caves.

Thermometers are used for keeping a track of the temperature of the water and thermostats are used for stabilizing the temperature within optimum range.

Filter. The wastes produced in the aquarium are removed as the water is passed through the filter medium. Three main types of filtration are adopted.

1. Mechanical filtration where the solid particles are trapped by the filter.

2. Chemical filtration that alters the chemical composition of the water.

3. Biological filtration that involves enhanced natural population of bacteria, which operate the nitrogen cycle.

Some of the filters commonly used in the aquaria are:

1. Canister filters with a container (the filter chamber) and an electric pump.

2. Under-gravel filters with a plastic plate kept between the aquarium base and the substrate with one or more uplift pipes.

3. Trickle filters with one or more trays with perforated bottoms, stacked above the aquarium and connected with an external canister filter whose return is sprayed on to the top tray, which then trickles back into the tank via perforations.

4. Box filters, sponge filters, Protein skimmers are some other filters that are used in the aquaria
