I was Slightly Disappointed by the Miami Seaquarium
This is only the second aquarium I've ever been to, and I was not all that impressed.
Since we had gotten lost the day before our trip to Miami Seaquarium and ended up on the Rickenbacker Causeway, we found that the park was extremely easy to find. We showed up at 9:30am as soon as the park opened. They suggest that you allow four hours for your visit so you can visit all of the special presentations available, we did not go to all of the shows (and I have no regrets for that) and we managed to get through in three hours.
Exhibits/Shows
-Top Deck Dolphin Show (5/5): This was the first show we saw at the aquarium and by far the best. I got a lot of wonderful dolphin pictures.
-Flipper the Dolphin Show (3/5): Yep, Flipper is still alive and kicking, I cannot say I was entirely impressed with this show, it was a bit cheesy.
-Killer Whale amp; Dolphin Show (4.5/5): This was by far one of my favorites, the only thing that took it down a notch in my book was that the show was more about the dolphins than the orca and we had already watched two dolphin shows.
-Tropical Wings (3/5): The flamingos were amazing and you could get close enough to the parrots for my friend to get his finger bit (he was trying for that, you aren't in any danger in this area). This section also had Koi and snakes.
-Endangered Manatees (1/5): I felt really horrible about this exhibit, the manatees looked really sick and the water was really dirty.
-Discovery Bay Wildlife Habitat (4/5): I am not quite sure why they had deer at their aquarium, but this is where the deer were and this is also where we met a couple of giant iguanas who roamed around the aquarium grounds freely (and I do mean GIANT).
-Tropical Aquariums (.5/5): 80% of the tanks were empty, there were hardly any tropical fish in there at all.
-Crocodile Flats (1/5): They just sat there, it wasn't very entertaining at all.
-Golden Dome Sea Lion Show (NA, did not see)
-Reef Aquarium Presentation (2/5): This is where most of the tropical fish were at, but it was nothing stellar.
-Shark Channel (1/5): What the...? I came to Florida expecting to see sharks, I wanted to see some sharks, there was only one shark in the shark channel not to mention that the closest you got to see them from was a bridge 7 feet above with the sun hitting the water.
-Sea Lion Feeder Pool (3/5): You aren't supposed to really do anything to attract their attention and they weren't being very active, but there is a cool fake sea lion right near there that's fun to take pictures on.
-Remote Control Games (NA): $1 for a token, way too expensive.
-Salty's Pirate Playground (2/5): My roommate said that the boat was the only good part, there is something that sounds a bit off to me about putting your playground right in the middle of the shark channel.

Gift Shop
There was some cute jewelry and pirate gear in there. It was your basic gift shop, pretty much what you would expect, the selection was actually better than at a lot of the places I have been to recently. I was once again disappointed with the lack of shark selection... I wanted to get a shark tooth or one of those baby sharks in a jar while we were there, but neither of which were available.
Verdict
I felt like this place was kind of a rip off. While I would love to go down there and work there so I could play with the dolphins all day, I don't think that there were nearly enough animals or attractions there for it to be worth the money. This is supposed to be the #1 attraction in southern Florida, I have to say that I hope that somewhere in southern Florida has a little bit more than this to offer.
